Register for the Magical Maths Club!

Start: 11th Jun 2018 3:15pm

Duration: 6 weeks

Professor Poopenshtinken, the mathematical genius, came to visit us this week. He led an assembly for our children where he claimed to be the greatest mathematician ever. Nobody really believed him but he stunned our children by reading some of their minds. He was able to work out numbers that children had calculated using his amazing tricks. The Professor had a little bit of help from a magic envelope but amazed us with his abilities. With KS2 a volunteer thought of some random 2 and 3 digit numbers and then used a calculator to square them, the professor then calculated the same answers (55 x 55 and 107 x 107) instantly in his head! The children were mesmerised but the Professor told them that they didn't need to be a genius to learn how to do the tricks. He told all the children that he could teach them to do the same tricks using only the power of numbers and the magic of maths.

The Professor's friends will be coming back to school to teach the tricks, play games, crack codes and solve puzzles. There are separate clubs for KS1 and KS2 and they start on Monday 11th June for 6 consecutive Mondays.
