Vision Statement:

At St Anne's, our aim and vision towards PE is to deliver a high quality, broad and balanced curriculum as well as providing challenging and fun sessions for our children using the correct resources to aid them in their learning and development. PE should be an integral part of the whole school curriculum and one that staff, pupils and parents understand and can contribute to. It can ensure our children are physically and mentally healthy and can develop to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens of the future.

The children will apply our key SCORE Values into their lessons - Self Esteem, Commitment, Organisation, Resilience and Excellence

Our PE curriculum will improve emotional well-being, foster positive behaviours and develop key skills such as leadership, confidence, social and team building skills. This also mirrors perfectly our own school Mission Statement; "Learn To Love and Love To Learn.....in Readiness for Life".

Every term, our school offers the opportunity for children to participate in different sporting clubs before and after school times to broaden their horizons and engage with a wide variety of sports and opportunities. This will help encourage more children to continue playing sport as well as creating a pathway towards competitive and elite sport. We also hope this encourages more of our children to develop a love, passion and enthusiasm for PE,  Sport, and Dance. Across the academic year, the children in different year groups will take part in a variety of sporting tournaments and events competing with different schools. It provides our pupils with opportunities to participate in competitive sports and activities both in and beyond the PE curriculum.

My Thoughts About PE (Mr Burton):

I am extremely passionate about my subject because it is fun, rewarding and contributes to a child's professional development and their own wellbeing. PE enables all students to enjoy and succeed in many kinds of physical activity. PE helps students develop personally and socially. They work as individuals, in groups and in teams, developing concepts of fairness and of personal and social responsibility.

Sporting Events at St Anne's:

Here you will find information and pictures regarding all of the exciting sporting events happening at St Anne's, alongside details of all our extra-curricular clubs and competitive events. We are aiming to achieve at least Silver School Games award this year by participating in different local sporting competitions for our pupils to participate in. Please check back regularly for termly updates on current topics in school. Mr Burton (Year 3 teacher and PE Subject Lead) and Mr. Connick (Year 4 teacher and PE Subject Lead).

Watch Us Get Fit:

On Monday 19th November, the children had a wonderful experience of taking part in football coaching held by Jamie Carragher’s company called Watch Us Get Fit. The children completed a series of different footballing exercises, dribbles and skills.
